CASE NO- 3 : Depigmentation
Patient summary
Ms.s.swetha aged 21 years/ female reported to get her teeth corrected and wanted to get treated for her dark coloured gums in lower front teeth region. No relevant medical history or previous history of dental treatment. No abnormality in TMJ, frenal attachment observed. On examination, it was observed to be a case of class 2 div 2 malocclusion with melanin pigmentation in maxillary and mandibular gingiva. The treatment plan is to perform gingival depigmentation of mandibular anterior region with lasers.
LASER OPERATING PARAMETERS:
LASER TREATMENT SUMMARY
The laser chosen for this procedure is diode with 940 nm.The target chromophore for this is
melanin ,haemoglobin and water. Under local anaesthesia depigmentation was done in upper and
lower anteriors using laser tip 400um Minimal power parameters.patient was given post operative
instructions and to be reviewed after one week .
